**Country Finance Manager Iberia**:

- Remote Eligible: Hybrid- Onsite Location(s): Madrid, M, ES**About the role**:
The Country Finance Manager Iberia (Spain and Portugal) will drive a diverse and multi-disciplinary country Finance team, providing country compliance gatekeeping and business partnering, enabling their professional growth, driving, participating and implementing EMEA processes and systems improvements.
The role is a key member of the leadership teams in Spain and Portugal, and it will be based in Madrid.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversees financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/Standards and ethical standards with unyielding integrity. Drives compliance in all finance related matters (GIA, SOX, Statutory, monthly Closing);
- Develops and implements accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in support with business processes and decisions; Ensures all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards and the internal Quality Management System
- Anticipates financial needs of business partners; proactively develops financial solutions to those requirements
- Identifies key financial issues; reports, interprets and translates them into terms meaningful to business partners and functional managers
- Participates in cross-functional teams addressing alternate business practices
- Implements and drives process improvements in Iberia and EMEA
- Leads the Iberia Finance and OSM teams, ensuring at least the required level of competencies for the roles and as a team are met. High attention to recruitment, performance, development and retention.
- Oversees the contracting
- and compliance work related to Agents and Distributors as well as work related to placement of capital equipment
- Oversees month end close process to ensure timely close and financial reports preparation
- Analyzes, interprets and reports operating results to local management and makes specific recommendations to achieve cost effectiveness and profit improvements.
- Oversees maintaining of all substantiation records for tax, assessing and making provision for tax payable, liaising with Corporate Tax on transfer pricing issues and liaising with Ernst & Young (external) to ensure audit compliance
- Collaborates with A/R team to manage A/R
- Oversees operational cash management and cash flow forecasting; bank administration, funds transfers and foreign exchange dealings under the direction of Corporate Treasury
- Participates in development and carrying-out of inventory control procedures, including physical stock-take, audit and control of both warehouse and hospital consignment inventory; Accounts for and maintains proper inventory reserves for E&O.

**What are we looking for in you**:

- Degree qualified in a Finance discipline
- Consistent professional experience in a similar role gained in dynamic international commercial organizations. Experience of working in a US organization and/or matrix structured business is highly desirable.
- Experience in a Big 4 would be a plus.
- Proven track record for partnering with commercial functions and influence decisions.
- Strong functional skills
- People management skills: relationships building, people development
- Enabling skills: influence, communication, flexibility, proactivity
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to build trust and credibility with business leaders
- High level of commercial acumen
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Must be self-motivated with ability to develop, encourage and lead a strong efficient team
- Focused on continuous improvements and efficient change agent.
