Due to an internal move, there is an opportunity to work as Finance Director for our Iberia Region (Spain & Portugal), leading all aspects of finance. The role has 3 senior direct reports and plays a key role in partnering with the business to drive sales and profit performance through understanding of the market, our business, and our competitors.

This includes ensuring compliance to USGAAP and group accounting policies, working within a SOx compliant environment, adherence to financial controls, submission of group monthly/quarterly reporting requirements, oversee the year end audit process, the preparation of statutory accounts in local GAAP and corporate Tax and VAT returns.

You will also be involved in monthly financial forecasts, annual and long-term plans, local funding arrangements, risk and insurance, procurement, payment of suppliers and collection of receivables and provision of value-added financial support to business teams.

Core activities include:

- Preparation of accurate financial forecasts and plans to support the business in achieving our financial targets and improving margins and profit
- Proactively lead value added analysis to make recommendations to the various business teams to enable better decision making and identification of new initiatives to become more profitable
- Ensure Iberia region’s adherence to all aspects of compliance, including external audit, SOx and internal audit, timely filing of statutory accounts and any other locally required financial reporting
- Build a high performing, resilient, cost-efficient finance team with a good balance of experience and people with the talent to progress further within the organization.
- Work with the Senior International Management on business and financial performance
- Build a strong working relationship with the other members of the Iberia & Southern region leadership team so that they view the Finance Director as a key, supportive business partner
- Supervise company’s balance sheet reflects real economic situation and flag any concerns.
- Minimize risk and achieve cost effective insurance and funding solutions
- Build the real estate and facilities capability across the region, ensuring local health, safety and environmental standards are achieved, properties support our business needs and lease costs are minimized. As well as, supervising and deciding together with the General Manager CAPEX investments and Opex related to facilities activities.
- Procurement activities supervision & purchase orders validation.

To be successful in this role you will be:

- Bachelors in Economics / Business/ Accounting. MBA as a plus.
- ROC (Revisor Oficial de Contas) OR TOC (Técnico Oficial de Contas) Certificates as a benefit.
- More than 5 years’ experience in similar positions.
- Extensive accounting background with a hands-on approach
- Previous experience in financing negotiation with banks.
- Commercial awareness and understanding local market factors, results, performance and foreseeing impact.
- Experience in leading discussion with external and Internal audit teams
- Significant experience of leading teams in a multi-country team
- Strong leadership, ability to inspire, recruit and structure a team to achieve high levels of performance
- Collaborative nature, desire to help colleagues and understanding that the team is stronger than individuals
- Ability to assess options and make decisions supported by strong financial analysis
- Ability to influence and engage senior, geographically/culturally diverse stakeholders
- Ability to pace and lead change
