**What does this internship consists of?**
Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed **an exclusive program (DISCOVER) **designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the future.
You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to **DISCOVER **the skills most in demand today. It will be combined **with an 11 month internship at Airbus **in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.
The start of the internship will be in early March 2023, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.
The microwave instruments department is in charge of the development of active and passive spaceborne microwave instruments. In particular two types of instruments are generally implemented within Airbus:
- Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR) to image the Earth surface independently of the illumination conditions (i.e. day/night/cloud conditions)
The task of this traineeship is to provide support to the department in two specific topics:
- The estimate of the different instrument performances for SAR, based on the modelling of the instrument and its acquisition parameters. For such a purpose support to the current implementation of theoretical models in a programming language is expected. Such modelling needs to be extracted from scientific and engineering papers due to the state of the art nature of the instruments development. In this sense the trainee will be assigned to provide support to the performance estimate for the future program PAZ-2 which is based on a synthetic aperture radar. The performances of the different acquisition modes (stripmap, spotlight, MAPS, FSCAN) will need to be derived in terms of image resolution, image size, ambiguity level, impulse response characteristics, etc.
**Your Profile**
- Telecommunications Engineering Degree
- Strong knowledge of signal processing
- Programming capabilities in Matlab or Phyton
- Proficiency English level
