As Head of Regional Category Management OPEA PV & BESS in our OPEA Procurement Team, you directly report to the Director of Procurement OPEA. You will lead a team of 4 Regional Category Managers located in Spain and Germany and you will be in charge of developing the Procurement strategy for OPEA for PV & BESS CAPEX in line with regulatory developments within the eleven OPEA markets. You further align the strategy closely with the Global Category Manager based in the US to ensure synergies from demand pooling across OpCos as well as maintaining one RWE voice towards the supply market.
As Head of Regional Category Management OPEA you lead the cross-functional Category team existing of members from Engineering, HSE, Quality to develop new suppliers.
You further provide CAPEX cost, risk and opportunity evaluations for your area of supply as input to the overall OPEA mid and long-term budget planning as well as to every financial investment decision.

**Your future**:

- Development of the Procurement strategy for OPEA for PV & BESS CAPEX in line with regulatory developments within the eleven OPEA markets.
- In Coordination with the Global Solar Category Manager development of cross-Opco synergies while maintaining always one voice to the external supply market
- Solar & Energy Storage Category and Contract management to develop, implement and proactively manage strategies with comprehensive understanding of the market and regulatory environment
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, coordinate overarching initiatives (e.g. MSA or Frame agreements) and create active supplier relationship management
- Develop the Procurement strategy for tendering, evaluating and contracting Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage equipment to support the new build energy storage projects
- Serve as the key interface between internal stakeholders (Development, Engineering, etc) and the supplier market environment
- Manage the respective supplier market in terms of opening new and competitive supply channels, development and qualification of suppliers (including global sourcing)
- Manage the full sourcing process (including market analysis, RFI, RFPs, Negotiations, Contracting, internal Final Investment Decisions and Supplier Awarding) in close collaboration with key stakeholders and in line with RWE policies and processes
- Engage with Quality teams to ensure Quality is managed thought the sourcing and production

**Your profile**:

- Several years of relevant experience in PV/BESS understanding the market dynamics and the supplier ecosystem.
- Detailed understanding of the regulatory environment within Europe
- Knowledge of the tendering process, contract negotiations, contractual terms and conditions with respect to renewable power generation purchases, warranty provisions
- Extensive experience in identifying and assessing commercial contractual risks and developing strategies for risk prevention or control
- Successfully completed studies in engineering or economics, additional legal qualification advantageous
- Ability to manage multiple contract packages and stakeholders and to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as experience to work in large scale companies and related matrix structures
- Intercultural understanding and experience in working with different cultures
- Very good communication skills (spoken and written) in English and German, other languages
- Willingness to travel
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills to be able to coordinate FIDs/Gate papers, Board inputs, presentations
- Can do & problem-solving attitude for adhoc business demands in case of supply shortages
- Great team player
