**Descripción**: The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. - Barcelona**What We Are Looking for**:
ISGlobal is seeking a part-time TECHNICIAN who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project “Molecular basis of the bacterial resistance to antibiotics: design of new antibacterial agents and diagnostic tools”.
The overall project goal is to continue developing the main research lines of the group: molecular basis of the antibacterial resistance, pathogenesis and design of new tools for diagnostic and treatment of bacterial diseases.

The activities in which the technician will be involved related to the Project will be:

- Analyse the epidemiology of a low respiratory infection in LMIC.
- Collect the samples and the material needed by the research group in order to design new diagnostic tools.
- Develop new techniques for diagnosis of bacterial infectious diseases.

The tasks will be developed in the Microbiology Department at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and at the research laboratory of Dr. Jordi Vila’s group at Centre Esther Koplowitz (CEK).

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Specific Duties**:

- The duties will consist of ensuring the correct development of new diagnostic tools regarding bacterial infectious diseases.
- Training and experience /Qualifications:

- Biosciences degree. Previous laboratory experience in the microbiology field. Experience in antimicrobial resistance will be highly appreciated.**Specific Requirements**:

- Previous experience in molecular microbiology

**Conditions**:

- Duration:until 31st of December 2023
- Starting date: 22th of May 2023
- Contract: part time (13,5h / day)
- Salary Range: technician II D

**Selection Process**:
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
