For Microsoft's partners and customers, generative AI in combination with a modern, agile and secure IT infrastructure are the most fundamental business opportunity since a long time.
The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more.
We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Partner Technology Strategist with a great drive to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving business impact through technical understanding, commercial mindset, and with a great ability to drive partnerships. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with partners and Microsoft partner teams to translate technology into tangible business outcomes for our partners. You will join a great team with both Partner Technology Strategists and Cloud Solution Architects that works with our Spanish partners on new emerging technologies such as GenAI, Copilots, and new Cloud and Security products. You will work together with the Partner Development Manager (PDM) on ensuring you develop our key partners to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise: Leverage your technical knowledge to understand partner needs and translate them into effective solutions. Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and apply them to enhance partner sales engagements.
Business Impact: Use your technical insights to drive business impact. Develop and implement strategies that align with partner goals and contribute to their success. Focus on creating value and achieving measurable outcomes.
Strong Social Team: Be an integral part of a strong social team that values diversity and inclusion. Participate in team-building activities and contribute to a positive and supportive work culture. Build strong relationships with partners and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Cloud Strategy Alignment: You will serve as the technical owner of our partners' business solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders to align their technology roadmap with Microsoft's cloud offerings. This includes understanding partners' business objectives, providing strategic guidance, and helping them leverage the full potential of the Microsoft cloud to achieve their goals.
Cloud Transformation Leadership: You will lead our partners through the complex process of cloud transformation, adopting a Technical Sales Challenger mindset to challenge conventional thinking. You will champion the adoption of innovative cloud technologies, accelerate time to market, and identify new business opportunities that drive our partners' success.
Innovation and Tech Intensity: You will embrace a culture of innovation and inspire our partners to adopt a tech-intensive mindset. Stay at the forefront of emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices. By providing thought leadership and encouraging experimentation, you will help our partners differentiate themselves in the market and drive transformative change.
Relationship Building: You will cultivate strong relationships with partners, acting as a trusted advisor to CTOs (Chief Technology Officers), executives, and technical teams. Foster collaboration, trust, and open communication channels to ensure seamless alignment between our partners and Microsoft. By driving joint success and achieving shared business objectives, you will establish long-lasting partnerships.
Strategy Formulation: Ensures execution of technology strategy and/or digital transformation by providing technical expertise during implementation and driving technology adoption. Executes work to support the transformation of partners and their customer's technology capacity, capability, and co-selling across the engagement. Creates fundamental, mid-term technical development plans (TDP) in alignment with the Partner Business Plans (PBPs) and in collaboration with the Partner Development Manager (PDM), which is reviewed by others. Outlines the digital transformation journey and core wins. Builds technical engagement or capacity plan, captures baseline, and drives envisioning to support mid-term business plans. Provides analysis of overall partner needs and advises on gaps that would benefit from Microsoft solutions.
Ensuring Success: Helps the partner and its customers to be successful with their solution and digital transformations by helping to anticipate issues and how to address them in presales phases. Supports the development of business opportunities that enable them to expand into new markets and provides them with a competitive edge. Orchestrates execution and monitoring of projects/programs in accordance with the partner plan. Sets timelines and milestones, and tracks progress toward objectives. Builds industry knowledge and establishes technical credibility with partners to drive the project agenda.
Differentiated Value Proposition: Drives conversations that present the strategic relationship between Microsoft technologies and solutions, offers, and services compared to the partner's overall business goals and objectives. Creates and maintains a vision with business and technology solution scenarios and services that helps partners meet their business goals, achieve their long-term corporate vision, and maximize commercial success.
Education and Thought Leadership: Provides input to virtual team members (e.g., Account Team) using a working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, partner accounts, digital transformations, and their context in the competitive landscape, and leverages knowledge when asked by others. Uses existing readiness resources to support the development of enablement plans for assigned partners to develop and expand their technical product capabilities. Contributes to innovations to accelerate meeting goals for partner capacity, while maximizing reach and impact.
Trusted Advisor: Acts as the voice of the partner and internal advocate by providing insights, feedback, and challenges from the partner to internal teams (e.g., product groups, engineers). Researches partner organizations and may be involved in contacting technical decision makers (TDMs) and/or business decision makers (BDMs). Learns about their needs and begins advising on solutions and positioning Microsoft offerings.
Demand Generation and Orchestration: Orchestrates internal teams to ensure sufficient technical resources for demands, from a limited pool of resources, when appropriate.
Partner and Industry Insights: Generates business insights based on experience with the partner and internal teams (e.g., community and ecosystem, Account team), and from knowledge of the capability of Microsoft products, to provide input into planning processes. Adapts plans based on insights, under guidance. Orchestrates specific scope of work for teams to gather information about the partner, under guidance. Begins to form insights around industry trends to deliver solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of working with partners to achieve business goals.
Knowledge of the Spanish partner ecosystem will be appreciated.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Passion for technology and a drive to stay updated with the latest industry trends.
This role requires proficiency in written, reading, and conversational Spanish as you will be assigned to the Spanish Customer Market.
