The mission of BSC is to research, develop, and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress.
BSC combines HPC service provision and RD into both computer and computational science (life, earth, and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.We are particularly interested in the strengths and lived experiences of women and underrepresented groups to help us avoid perpetuating biases and oversights in science and IT research.

In this critical role, you will drive the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures while ensuring optimal work conditions and fostering strong, productive relationships with the works council.
As a key partner to the assigned departments, you will provide expert guidance to staff, assist research group leaders with their HR requirements, and contribute to the seamless execution of our HR functions.If you are passionate about human resources, possess deep expertise in legal and labor relations, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply and become a valuable member of our HR teamKey DutiesUnder the guidance of the HR Labour Relations Manager, the HR Officer will oversee the following responsibilities for the Departments:Manage new employee onboarding and incorporation processes.Handle work and fellows contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.Administer payroll operations accurately and on time.Oversee offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for departing staff.Serve as the primary HR advisor and point of contact for Group Leaders and their departments.Coordinate HR processes for students, ensuring compliance and smooth operations.Provide general support to the HR Labour Relations Coordinator, including document management and addressing staff inquiries.Collaborate with the HR team to manage and maintain cooperative relations with the works council.Prepare and create detailed legal labor reports as required.Manage HR data (data entry in the ERP and different reporting systems).Support the department in internal HR projects.This does not fully define the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.RequirementsEducation: University Degree or equivalent professional experienceEssential Knowledge and Professional Experience:A minimum of 5 years experience in an HR Department, in a similar roleGood skills in Microsoft Office (especially in Excel)Demonstrable expertise in labour law and regulationsAdditional Knowledge and Professional Experience:Experience in an international and multi-cultural environment will be valued.Experience in a research centre will be valued.Competences:Excellent verbal and written communication (Spanish, Catalan, and English)Planning and organizing (Structured mindset)Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environmentCommunicationTeamworkProactive Cooperation (Desire to learn and improve)Service AttitudeFlexibilityConditionsThe position will be located at BSC within the Management Department.
