It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is now the hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, which leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop, and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth, and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries. We are particularly interested in the strengths and lived experiences of women and underrepresented groups to help us avoid perpetuating biases and oversights in science and IT research. Context And Mission We are seeking an experienced HR Officer specializing in labor relations to join our team, reporting directly to the HR & Labour Relations Manager. In this critical role, you will drive the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures while ensuring optimal work conditions and fostering strong, productive relationships with the works council. As a key partner to the assigned departments, you will provide expert guidance to staff, assist research group leaders with their HR requirements, and contribute to the seamless execution of our HR functions. If you are passionate about human resources, possess deep expertise in legal and labor relations, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply and become a valuable member of our HR team Key Duties Under the guidance of the HR & Labour Relations Manager, the HR Officer will oversee the following responsibilities for the Departments: Manage new employee onboarding and incorporation processes. Handle work and fellows contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. Administer payroll operations accurately and on time. Oversee offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for departing staff. Serve as the primary HR advisor and point of contact for Group Leaders and their departments. Coordinate HR processes for students, ensuring compliance and smooth operations. Provide general support to the HR & Labour Relations Coordinator, including document management and addressing staff inquiries. Collaborate with the HR team to manage and maintain cooperative relations with the works council. Prepare and create detailed legal labor reports as required. Manage HR data (data entry in the ERP and different reporting systems). Support the department in internal HR projects
