With thousands of Servers and million of daily checks across all data centers and environments, maintaining a high scalable, reliable and automated platform to monitor our systems is our clients to day challenge.
A Monitoring Engineer is essential for maintaining a stable and high performance IT environment, enabling organizations to proactively address issues and deliver a reliable user experience.
As a Monitoring, you will work with engineering to provide statistics and performance indicators to other IT groups with the aim of collectively achieving high availability and uptime of all services through performance trend analysis and the identification of bottlenecks, capacity issues, and other points of concern.
Requirements Technical profile with no major gaps in OS level (Linux, Windows server OS) Understanding of the importance of monitors, alerting and trend analysis of metrics.
Experience with Nagios, Zabbix, Icinga, Grafana or Prometheus tools Familiarity with key business metrics to measure applications performance and user experience.
Understanding of SEO principles and techniques to optimize website visibility and performance.
Knowledge of APM, EUM, RUM or synthetic monitoring methodologies Experience with tools such as AppDynamics, NewRelic, Dynatrace, Datadog Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for collecting and managing distributed traces and metrics.
Experience with CM tools like Puppet, Ansible or Salt as well as DevOps culture and new deployment methodologies based on containers (docker) and its operation via orchestration with k8s.
Experience with Scripting languages like bash, ruby, python, Experience representing KPIs and metrics into dashboards to ease root cause analysis of problems or foresee potential ones detecting trend changes.
Responsibilities Design and Implementation: Design and implement monitoring solutions for infrastructure, applications, and services.
Select and configure appropriate monitoring tools and technologies based on the organization's needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and design effective monitoring strategies.
Infrastructure Monitoring: Develop and maintain monitoring systems for Servers, networks, databases, and other critical infrastructure components.
Configure alerts and notifications to proactively identify and address potential issues.
Application Monitoring: Implement application performance monitoring (APM) solutions to track and analyse the behaviour of applications.
Identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, and enhance user experience through monitoring insights.
Log Management: Manage and analyse log data to detect and troubleshoot issues.
Implement log aggregation and analysis tools to streamline the troubleshooting process.
Incident Response: Respond to incidents identified through monitoring systems promptly and efficiently.
Collaborate with operations and development teams to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts for the deployment and configuration of monitoring tools.
Integrate monitoring solutions into existing automation frameworks for seamless operations.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for monitoring configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Train and support other teams on using monitoring tools effectively.
Performance Analysis: Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure scalable and reliable systems.
Provide recommendations for improvements based on monitoring data and analysis.
