ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.LugarBarcelona, Campus Clinic-CEKWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal is looking for a junior predoctoral researcher to work on various studies of immune responses to malaria, COVID-19, and NTDs, after infection or vaccination. Activities aim to investigate functional antibody mechanisms of vaccine-induced protection against infectious diseases and identify correlates of vaccine-induced protection. The studies are carried out in collaboration with multiple international research centers (Africa, Europe, USA, Australia).One of the main projects is WORMVACS2.0: the objective of this project is to establish an effective pipeline for helminth vaccine development focusing on schistosomes and hookworms, to support control and elimination of some of the world's most devastating and persistent Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).KEY RESPONSABILITIESThe purpose of the position is to perform functional antibody profiling studies in the context of infectious diseases and vaccines.The position includes laboratory analysis of samples using multiplex technologies.The position will require experience in functional antibody assays including Luminex, as well as some basic statistics and data management.The position is based at ISGlobal in Barcelona.SPECIFIC DUTIESDesign and execute functional antibody assays.Carry out data cleaning, QA/QC, and preprocessing.Basic data management and descriptive statistics.Prepare data reports and manuscripts.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONSMasters in biomedical sciences ideally advanced immunology.Experience in Luminex antibody assays.Basic experience/knowledge in processing, managing, visualization, presentation, and analysis of complex multidimensional data.Experience with database management and programming software for statistical analysis: R, Excel, CSV.Basic experience in analysis of immunological, vaccinology, and infectious diseases data.SKILLSMultitasking.Problem resolution.Learning capacity.Teamwork.The post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in the People management policy, including Equity, diversity, and health safety.
