BSC promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, fostering an environment where each individual is appreciated for their unique perspectives.Context And MissionThe High Performance Artificial Intelligence research group is boosting research on Foundational models and LLMs, looking for motivated engineers who wish to contribute to the understanding, improvement, and deployment of these systems. This position is intended to work in both research and development, exploring ways to improve foundational models and porting those improvements to society.Key DutiesContribute to the review of the state-of-the-art for foundation modelsConduct the design and training of AI modelsImplement reliable, reproducible, and automated training and evaluation methodologiesDocument and disseminate the work doneRequirementsEducationDegree in STEMMaster in STEMEssential Knowledge and Professional ExperienceExperience with Git & Docker (1 year minimum)Experience in LLMs and Transformers training (1 year minimum)Experience with HPC infrastructure and pipelines (CI/CD, Slurm, Singularity)Experience with Torch and TF (1 year minimum)Experience in LLM inference and evaluation (1 year minimum)Additional Knowledge and Professional ExperienceFluent English and Spanish are a must.CompetencesCapacity to work in multidisciplinary environmentsConditionsThe position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences DepartmentWe offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, and a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructureDuration: 4 yearsHolidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreementSalary: 42,000.00€Starting date: as soon as possible, before the 16th of December 2024Applications procedure and processAll applications must be submitted via the BSC website and contain:A full CV in English, including contact details.A cover/motivation letter with a statement of interest in English.Development of the recruitment processThe selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system.
