PREFAB DATA CENTERS BUSINESS
The modular Data Centers have been driving tremendous growth in the segment during the last years. As part of the Data Center Systems Line of Business, the MODULAR DATA CENTER organization designs and integrates full solutions in the field of power conversion, energy storage, cooling, electrical distribution, and control software into modular enclosures.
About the position:
The Senior Project Engineer - Electrical Installations is responsible for the technical
leadership, design integration, coordination, and execution support of all electrical systems
within prefabricated building and data center projects. The role requires extensive experience designing, coordinating, and integrating electrical installations in construction environments, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, project schedules, and manufacturing constraints.
The successful candidate will act as the electrical authority during project execution, working closely with Project Managers, Technical Leaders, BIM teams, Subject Matter Experts, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure seamless delivery of electrical infrastructure from design through final commissioning.
Experience in critical infrastructure environments, particularly data centers, is highly preferred.
Key Responsabilities:
- Lead the technical execution of electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and coordinate electrical designs to ensure compliance with customer requirements, codes, and project specifications.
- Integrate LV/MV distribution, UPS, generator, grounding, lighting, and control systems within prefabricated solutions.
- Coordinate engineering activities with BIM designers, technical specialists, vendors, and construction teams.
- Manage technical interfaces between electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Support design optimization, constructability reviews, and value engineering initiatives.
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Identify, track, and resolve technical issues during engineering, manufacturing, and installation phases.
- Support quality control inspections and ensure compliance with approved designs.
- Manage engineering changes and maintain technical documentation throughout execution.
- Develop and review bills of materials and equipment specifications.
- Participate in factory testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.
- Support the preparation of as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and project closeout deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
What will help you to be successful?
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Master's Degree or specialization in Power Systems or Building Services Engineering is an advantage
- Proven expertise in the design and integration of electrical installations for industrial, commercial, or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of:
o Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems.
o Power distribution architecture.
o UPS systems.
o Grounding and bonding systems.
o Lighting systems.
o Fire detection and electrical interfaces and Cable routing and containment systems.
