ICIQ is looking for a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Dr. Jose Berrocal. The successful candidate will work on synthesis and mechanical characterization of photo- and mechano-responsive polymer materials.
Responsibilities
Thermal and mechanical characterization of polymer materials with dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), tensile testing, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetric anaylsis (TGA)Assist the supervisor in the daily supervision of the PhD studentsSynthesis of small molecules to be used for sensing applicationsStudy the photo- and mechano-responsive behavior of polymers with setups combining microtensile testing and optical probes measuring transmittance spectraProduction of written reports and presentations to update the group/supervisor
Requirements
PhD in Chemistry or Materials scienceLevel of English equal to B2 or higherPrior experience with small reparation of laboratory instrumentationsAbility to work independently and in teams

We offer:
A 3-year full-time position. Remuneration according to individual's qualifications/experienceAnnual salary split in twelve monthly paymentsIncorporation: June/July 2024.

Selection Process
ICIQ's selection process usually entails the following phases:
Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates' CVs. This phase is merit-based. Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee. Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is selected, the People Unit will extend a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary and overall job conditions.
