Creative Content Lead (12 month fixed term contract) - Wembley
Football belongs to everyone, and so do the stories that bring it to life.
We're looking for an experienced and inspiring Creative Content Lead to join The FA on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the creative direction of content across some of the most recognisable brands in sport, including the England teams and the men's and women's FA Cups.
You'll lead a talented creative team responsible for producing audience-first video content across our owned and operated platforms. You'll build on an established and successful content strategy, ensuring our creative output continues to engage existing audiences while helping us reach new ones.
A major focus of the role will be driving the continued growth of the England app, helping define its content identity and developing innovative formats that encourage deeper engagement with Three Lions and Lionesses fans. Looking ahead, you'll also play a key role in shaping content plans for some of the biggest moments in international football, including England's potential participation in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 and UEFA EURO 2028.
We're looking for an exceptional creative leader who understands sports audiences, thrives in complex stakeholder environments and can successfully balance competing priorities while maintaining a clear creative vision.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the Creative Content team, setting the creative vision, standards and priorities for video content across England teams, the Emirates FA Cup and Women's FA Cup.
- Own the development of creative concepts, storytelling approaches and content formats that resonate with audiences and drive engagement across multiple platforms.
- Build on an already successful content strategy, ensuring creative excellence and consistency across all channels.
- Drive the evolution and growth of original content within the England app, developing its creative identity and helping grow audience engagement and reach.
- Lead creative planning and delivery across international camps, tournaments, matchdays, FA Cup rounds and major brand moments.
- Play a key role in planning content approaches for future major events, potentially including the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 and UEFA EURO 2028.
- Partner closely with Content Strategy and Content Operations teams to ensure audience insights, performance data, production requirements and business objectives are reflected in creative output.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing creative team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and ambitious culture.
- Build strong relationships with agencies, freelancers and production partners to deliver best-in-class content efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial, Digital and wider FA teams to align priorities and deliver against shared objectives.
- Act as a key member of the Content Leadership Team, contributing to strategy, planning, operational improvements and future growth.
