Technical Product Owner / Manager

The Position


The Edge Infrastructure product within Roche consists of several teams working on delivering components to the overall product.
As PO, you will be responsible for driving that team's vision and execution towards a coherent goal.
You will act as a leader, bringing ideas and gathering support for future developments from engineers and other stakeholders, and funneling creativity and passion of the engineering team into a unified direction that aligns well with the needs of the overall product.

Responsibilities


  • Act as the customer's voice within the team.
  • Invest to understand the needs of users of the components produced by the team.
  • Help the engineering team by sharing these insights during refinement sessions.

Collaboration and Planning


Collaborate with the product manager and engineers to align, clarify, visualize and communicate the team roadmap containing high-level projects for the upcoming quarters.
Constantly update it to reflect current realities and status.
Assist with prioritizing individual tickets, whether they fall within high-level roadmap items or are independent of them.
This includes addressing short-term and upcoming topics such as bug reports or maintenance tickets.
Ensure a balanced approach between feature development and managing technical debt effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement


Engage with stakeholders (within and external to the team) to figure out priorities of tasks and visualize the outcome appropriately with the help of sprints and the backlog.
It is your responsibility to ensure that everybody in the team is able to contribute to the best of their abilities with maximum impact to the product.

Release Activities


Participate in the release activities to comply with Roche quality processes and regulations, ensuring that deliverables are properly tested, documented and ready in time to be included with product releases.

About You


The product you will be working on is a highly technical software and infrastructure project, mainly targeting developers.
You will be required to obtain a good technical understanding of the tools and technologies involved - and software development processes in general.

Requirements


  • 5+ years of work experience as a software, infrastructure or DevOps engineer.
  • Experience in cloud-native technologies (public cloud providers like AWS, deployment and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes) or modern software stacks (API and frontend development) is a bonus.
  • 2+ years experience in content leadership roles or alike (e.g. product owner).
