About the role
TrekkSoft is looking for its next Business Development Lead.

This is a senior, hands-on sales role that will spend the majority of time closing deals, but also includes Marketing leadership and team management aspects.

You will be taking ownership of two main functions:

First:
Senior ABM sales representative, create your own ABM funnel and close target accounts in key territories.

Second:
Manage and lead a small Sales & Marketing team, owning the output of the entire team.

You will own the sales pipeline and drive deal closing, primarily through an ABM approach.

This requires experience in this area, a strong understanding of digital marketing in the SaaS segment, and passion for the travel industry.

It will also require strong experience in driving long cycle lead nurturing with the team, while being able to win difficult deals individually or by supporting team members.


A key function of this role is to build and foster synergies between Marketing and Sales with a focus on generating and qualifying the right leads so that meaningful clients join the service.

Do note that most of your time will be spent on first hand selling.

In this role, your ability to make an impact in an agile SaaS company should be a primary driver and source of success.

The role reports directly to the COO and CEO.

Responsibilities:

Hands on Sales (roughly 2/3 of your time):

  • Create and manage your own ABM funnel in key territories (Switzerland, Norway, and others where applicable) through outbound methods.
  • Reach personal sales targets through calling, automation and face to face contact.
  • Attend trade shows and other lead generating events. Build and nurture long term relationships in the Tour Operator industry.
Sales and Marketing team leadership (roughly 1/3 of your time):

  • Define the Sales and Marketing approach based on our product, market, and resources.
  • Own the Marketing and Sales sales pipelines of the entire team. Review and refine the sales and marketing processes, building a strong and sustained ABM approach in our core markets.
  • Drive and prioritize the Sales-Marketing planning with the team, with the goal of collaborating on funnel creation and closing deals.
  • Manage a small Sales and Marketing team. Prioritize tasks, lead the Sales and Marketing meetings.
  • Coaching and mentoring, as well as performing periodic performance reviews and bonus tracking for your team.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to feed information on sales focus and product fit. Help define clear USPs for the product.
  • Review and report on the Sales and Marketing KPIs to management.
  • Use and refine the sales metrics and dashboards to produce insight driven action.

Requirements:

  • First hand, 10+ years of experience in a senior outbound / AMB sales role.
  • First hand experience with Marketing & Sales planning.
  • Passion for the tourism industry.
  • Being a native German speaker is a strong plus. Fluent English is a must.
  • Willingness to travel to target regions on a regular basis.
  • Strong experience owning and managing Marketing and Sales pipelines in Hubspot, Salesforce or a similar platform.
  • Strong ability to learn and articulate the functionalities of complex software.
