Laboratory Technician

IRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated candidate to join the team of the “Targeted Protein Degradation and Drug Discovery” laboratory as a senior Lab Technician . Prior wet-lab and chemical biology experience is required. The selected candidate will contribute to different projects in the lab and should also feel motivated to develop her/his own projects with the guidance of the team. An energetic and team mindset is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, and assisting with experiment.

Period: 6 months with possibility to extend the contract.

Incorporation: 1/11/2026.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and label samples for analysis.

• Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures.

• Record and analyze data accurately.

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Assist researchers with experiments and projects.

• Manage laboratory supplies and inventory.

• Cell culture (maintenance, cellular viability assays)

• Functional genomics (CRISPR, luciferase and fluorescence-based reporters, etc.)

• Molecular biology techniques (PCRs, immunoblots, cloning, IPs, etc)

• Drug screens, proteomics, flow cytometry

• Technology development

• Expression and purification of recombinant proteins

You have

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine/Biochemistry or equivalent experience.

• Experience of >3 years in a laboratory setting.

• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Highly motivated and collaborative person.

• Willing to keep on learning.

• Ability to work independently in a demanding research environment.

• Expertise in expression and purification of recombinant proteins.

You might also have

• Familiarity with TPD, TR-FRET, IPs, proteomics.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Experience with data analysis software.
