No Offer Description IE University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Private Law of IE Law School. The appointment will begin on September 1, 2027. The Department of Private Law of IE Law School brings together scholars whose research and teaching span a wide range of fields, including contract law, tort law, property law, family law, IP law, civil procedure and arbitration, private international law, private law theory, commercial and business law, labour law, and competition law. We seek candidates with an original and relevant research agenda and the potential to build a strong record of high-impact publications. Consistent with the school’s global orientation, we are interested in scholarship that speaks to audiences across jurisdictions and contributes to broader debates about law, institutions, societal challenges, and public policy. We welcome methodological diversity, including comparative, transnational, empirical, socio-legal, economic, political economy and other interdisciplinary approaches, alongside doctrinal and theoretical work. We welcome applications from candidates across all areas of private law, although subject areas of particular interest include corporate law, financial law; intellectual property law; and core private law (contracts, property, and torts). English is our working language and the primary language of instruction. Most courses are taught from a transnational or comparative perspective. Knowledge of Spanish or Spanish law is therefore not required. Candidates should have a PhD in Law or JSD/SJD (or demonstrate clear evidence that their PhD or JSD/SJD will be completed by July 2027). #J-18808-Ljbffr
