Offer Description
The offer includes a full-time temporal position for working in a research project directed to study the spinal circuits that are recruited following the optogenetic activation of various subpopulations of nociceptive afferent neurons, and to develop an ex vivo sensitization model using adequate patterns of optogenetic activation.
The tasks to be performed include the surgical extraction of mouse spinal cord for ex vivo use. Conducting electrophysiological recordings in the spinal cord in various genetically modified mouse models to analyse the role of different nociceptor subpopulations in sensitization. The use of optogenetics will allow the manipulation of the activity of specific neuronal populations using light. Activities also include all tasks related to the analysis and publication of the experimental results.
All procedures are fully implemented in the laboratory and are performed routinely.
