Head of Pharmaceutical Product Development Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Pharmaceutical Product Development to join their innovative team.
This crucial leadership role will be instrumental in guiding the development lifecycle of new pharmaceutical products from concept to market launch.
The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to key sites, including Barcelona, Catalonia.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage cross?functional teams responsible for pharmaceutical product development.
Define and implement the strategic vision for product development initiatives.
Oversee all phases of drug development, including formulation, analytical development, and manufacturing process optimization.
Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, etc.) and quality standards.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve project milestones.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development programs.
Foster a culture of innovation, scientific rigor, and continuous improvement within the development teams.
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and regulatory affairs departments.
Present development strategies and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Mentor and develop scientific and project management talent within the organization.
Requirements PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical product development, with a significant portion in leadership roles.
Proven track record of successfully bringing pharmaceutical products from early development to commercialization.
In?depth knowledge of formulation development, analytical testing, and manufacturing processes for various dosage forms.
Strong understanding of regulatory affairs and GMP requirements in major markets.
Exceptional project management skills, with experience managing complex, multi?disciplinary projects.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, global team environment.
Proficiency in Spanish and English.
Willingness to travel occasionally to sites including Barcelona.
