Pharoes Advisory is a technology-based start-up, we serve clients around the world in improving their decision making in the field of the energy transition using new technologies. Solutions Analyst/Associate We are looking for people with a passion for solving complex key problems of society using advanced mathematical models and contribute to making Pharoes a success. Working from our office in Madrid your primary responsibility will be to lead power system modelling activities at Pharoes working on projects as well as further developing current solutions. Requirements of the role:
· A growth-oriented mindset, intellectual curiosity, and openness to new ideas and techniques
· Interest in working in the dynamic environment of a technology-driven company
· Independent thinking and the ability to turn ideas into practical solutions
· An MSc in engineering, mathematics, operations research, physics, energy systems, or another relevant quantitative discipline is highly valued
· Ability to work autonomously while managing deadlines, project requirements, and established budgets
· Experience developing or coding mathematical or optimisation models using tools such as MATLAB, Python, R, GAMS, AMPL, Julia, or similar
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment in English
· Experience in quantitative power sector analysis, power systems, electricity markets, or energy modelling will be highly valued
