· 40 hours per week Atelier Madre is an independent fashion and leather goods brand creating handmade bags and accessories in Barcelona. Founded in 2021, our work centres on minimal design, local production and a close relationship with the people who wear our bags. Our open atelier in El Born brings design, craftsmanship, marketing and retail together under one roof. Customers discover the collection while seeing how it is made. As an artisan, you see your work become part of someone’s wardrobe, often meeting the person who takes it home. We’re growing and looking for someone who enjoys making things, has a strong interest in fashion and materials, and wants to build a long-term place in our team. You’ll spend approximately 95% of your time making leather bags and accessories, with occasional customer interaction. This is a practical workshop role, working from our existing designs and collections. Your work will include:
• Bag making and leathercraft: preparing, assembling and finishing leather bags and accessories.
• Quality and detail: paying attention to shape, construction and finish, with consistent standards across every piece.
• Workshop teamwork: keeping your workspace organised and helping the team maintain a steady production rhythm.
• Customer connection: occasionally introducing customers to our bags, materials and making process. Your background might be in leatherwork, sewing, fashion design, fashion production, tailoring or modelmaking. We welcome different routes into craftsmanship. What matters is your practical ability, your willingness to learn and the quality and speed of the work you make. You’ll fit well here if you:
• Enjoy hands-on work and take satisfaction in getting the details right.
• Work accurately and efficiently, including when repeating a familiar process.
• Are reliable, open to feedback and considerate towards the people around you.
• Speak English comfortably with colleagues and international customers. Joining Atelier Madre means contributing directly to the products and daily life of an independent fashion brand.
