Design Ops

Health can’t wait. Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t. Alan exists to end the wait. Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way. So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience. We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR. Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond. ⚡ The design and research community at Alan Alan’s Design & Research (D&R) community is the group of designers and researchers behind everything our members see and use. Our goal is simple: build the most member-centric health experience there is, with high standards of craft and a real understanding of the people we design for. We are growing fast, and AI is changing what is possible in the way we work. We are looking for someone who loves tooling, ops and AI to help us move faster without lowering the bar on quality. This is a builder role where design, operations and AI meet. You will scope where AI and automation can help us build faster, scale better and catch quality issues earlier, then turn the best ideas into tools the community actually uses. Along the way, you will help us improve our rituals and best practices, and share what we learn inside and outside Alan. You are not a designer or a researcher yourself: you are the enabler that allows the community to go faster and perform better as our member base grows. 🤝 Your missions You will help D&R work smarter and keep quality high as we grow, in close collaboration with the community, its lead, and the engineering, Product Ops and platform teams we work with. You will help shape our community strategy on AI and tooling, then build and run what comes out of it.
• Explore: Test new AI tools and automations, find the ones that really save time or improve quality, and share the best with the community. Work wth our internal AI tooling teams to bring what’s cutting edge to design and research.
• Build: Create skills, agents and automated checks that make design and research work more efficient, reliable and of higher quality.
• Run the tooling: Maintain and upgrade the tools the community relies on, and be our point of contact with Alan’s platform and agentic teams.
• Improve how we work: Bring in better practices and rituals, push our existing rituals to the next level and help us show what we learn and achieve, inside and outside Alan.
• Own your roadmap: Identify opportunities, prioritize solutions, set clear goals, track adoption and quality, and adjust as you go. 🚀 You are a good fit if... You are an ops-minded builder with around 4 years of experience in ops or enablement roles: design ops, tooling, automation, analytics, program management or something close. Design and research interests you, but what drives you is helping teams work better with tools, automation and better rituals. What you bring
• Hands-on experience automating work. You have replaced repetitive tasks with automations, internal tools or AI workflows (no-code, low-code or AI tools), at work or on your own projects, and you can tell us what you built and who used it.
• Familiarity with AI tools. You have built or tested skills, agents or automations, and you care that they are reliable, not just impressive in a demo.
• Comfort working with engineers. You can build things yourself, you know when to ask for production-grade work, and you speak their language.
• Experience supporting a team or community, for example through onboarding, rituals, events or internal communications.
• Strong English communication, to collaborate with our international team. French is a plus. Nice to have
• Experience in or alongside a design or research team.
• Familiarity with Figma and design systems. Qualities we look for
• Builder and strategic mindset: you make progress with incomplete information, choose the simplest approach that works, and ship.
• Rigour: you set a baseline and a target, and improve with each iteration.
• Systems thinking: you see how people, processes, tools and data fit together.
• Judgment: you frame ambiguous problems, prioritise, and know what to drop.
• Clear communication: you keep people updated and explain your choices. 🌍 Where you can be based
