About the TeamGround Services is a core shared platform responsible for processing, validating, and distributing data across several strategic products, including eWAS, Mission Watch, and other operational systems. As a critical component within the ecosystem, Ground Services manages high-volume data flows, backend integrations, and complex business workflows that directly affect system reliability and customer experience.

The OpportunityWe are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong backend mindset and proven Java automation experience to help drive quality across our Ground Services ecosystem.

You will play a key role in defining automation strategies, increasing quality maturity, improving release confidence, and embedding quality practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

You will collaborate closely with Developers, Architects, Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, and Frontend teams to ensure robust validation of APIs, integrations, data processing pipelines, and distributed systems. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Engineering & StrategyDefine and execute risk-based testing strategies for new features, releases, maintenance activities, and customer commitments.

Promote Shift-Left Quality practices and ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, DevOps, and Frontend teams to improve testability and quality from design to production.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on quality metrics, defect trends, and delivery performance. Test AutomationDesign, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Java.

Contribute to and evolve the overall automation strategy for Ground Services. Expand automation coverage across APIs, backend services, integrations, databases, and end-to-end workflows.

Improve the maintainability, scalability, and reliability of automated test suites.

Integrate automated validations into CI/CD pipelines to accelerate feedback cycles and release confidence.

Backend & Data ValidationValidate complex backend workflows, distributed systems interactions, and data processing pipelines.

Test service-to-service integrations, REST APIs, messaging systems, and microservices.

Perform database validation and data integrity checks using SQL.Analyze logs and troubleshoot quality issues across multiple system layers.

Release Readiness & GovernanceSupport release planning, regression strategy, defect management, and production readiness activities.

Act as a quality advocate by providing independent quality assessments and risk-based recommendations for releases.

Monitor release health, production quality indicators, and automation effectiveness. AI-Powered Quality EngineeringDrive the adoption of AI-assisted Quality Engineering practices.

Solid knowledge of REST APIs, service-to-service integrations, messaging systems, and microservices environments.

Experience validating backend workflows, integrations, and data processing.

Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot complex system issues, and identify quality risks across multiple system layers.

Test AutomationStrong hands-on experience building and maintaining Java-based automation frameworks.

Deep understanding of test automation architecture, frameworks, and best practices.

Experience defining or contributing to automation strategies.
