Senior Manager Technical Accounting

The Senior Manager Technical Accounting will support the Head of Technical Accounting in the analysis and assessment of complex transactions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.

This role will be responsible for preparing technical accounting assessments, providing clear guidance to the FSSCs, and delivering training sessions on new accounting standards and updates.

What your responsibilities will be

• Perform detailed IFRS technical analysis of transactions, including preparation of accounting assessments with appropriate documentation.
• Support the implementation of new accounting standards and prepare impact assessments of upcoming IFRS pronouncements.
• Provide accounting instructions and guidance to the FSSC to ensure accurate and consistent application of IFRS across Grifols.
• Act as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders, explaining the accounting implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Deliver training sessions on IFRS developments and accounting policies to finance teams and other departments.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Legal, Tax, Controlling, Business Units) to fully understand the nature of transactions and their accounting impact. 
• Assist in preparing responses to external auditors on technical accounting matters.
• Ensure alignment with IFRS reporting requirements and Grifols accounting policies.

• Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Experience: 

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Big4 - ideally some experience within technical accounting role.

Deep expertise in IFRS, with proven ability to assess complex transactions and draft accounting position papers.

• Skills:

Strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate accounting matters in a clear and concise manner to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Proactive, analytical and intellectually curious, with stron problem-solving skills.

• Competencies:

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Culturally aware and able to collaborate across diverse teams.

Flexibility for U Program: Hybrid Model

Flexible schedule: Monday-Thursday 7-10 to 16-19h and Friday 8-15h.
