About the role:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced
Software Development Team Lead
to join our iLovePDF Tech team. You will be responsible for managing and guaranteeing the operation of team members and the final quality of the iLovePDF for Desktop solution.

The application is available for Windows and macOS systems. The Desktop Team is organized to develop and maintain its versions using technologies like QT, QML, C++, and several PDF and image processing libraries.

What you will do:

You will be responsible for leading and managing the iLovePDF Desktop team and taking ownership of the Desktop application, ensuring the quality of the entire release lifecycle, from gathering information from stakeholders and various departments to planning, overseeing execution, and final release. This includes releases for the Apple App Store, Windows Store, and MSI/MSIX installers.

Also, based on business requirements, there may be requests for quick investigation of new & latest technology and implementing Demos/Prototypes. The ideal candidate will efficiently work with our Sales team to discuss and develop the requirement specifications and cooperate in developing and executing strategic activities of the desktop department for business purposes and objectives.

For this role, we are looking for someone exceptional to join our team and we will value someone who has the following skills:

• 3+ years of previous experience in embedded software management or desktop applications.
• 3+ years of team-leading experience, with strong management, motivation, and team-playing skills.
• Good background in User Experience and User-Centered Design.
• Experience in several development methodologies including agile, waterfall, and rapid (RAD).
• Experience in the Software development lifecycle.
• Able to investigate & acquire quick knowledge about system specification & technical insight.
• Strong knowledge & hands-on experience in software project estimation, planning monitoring & control, risk & issue management.
• Detail-focused as you'll be in charge of different tasks such as spotting subtle problems, raising issues, and taking ownership of the solution.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including team management and product quality maintenance.
• Previous experience with project management tools, mainly Jira.
• Fluency in English, Spanish, and/or Catalan is a must.
• EU citizen or a valid work permit to work in Spain.

Nice to have:

• Experience with file-processing apps & digital signatures.
• Worked with Qt including Qt6 and QML-based projects.
