Overview

Our client is establishing a new engineering site in the Cádiz region and is seeking an experienced Office Lead / General Manager to lead and develop this location.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and managing an engineering site in the Cádiz region.
  • Actively integrating the site and team into the wider group and, in particular, the engineering organization.
  • Responsibility for business planning, business results, and reporting, including monthly and annual profit and loss statements, to achieve company goals.
  • Building, disciplining, and developing the local team, including coordinated project and personnel planning. (You will be supported by a tech team lead with many years of experience in the company's products, who will provide technical guidance and leadership to the team.)
  • Development of local growth strategies in cooperation with the parent company.
  • Establishment of a regional network for the acquisition of new customers, orders, and funding opportunities.
Requirements
  • Skills to build an organization from scratch, manage its operations, and develop it.
  • Motivation to apply these skills for our client's organization in the Cádiz region.
  • Degree in business or engineering with at least five years of management experience.
  • Spanish nationality, or at least 10 years of residence in Spain
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • High level of commitment, leadership skills, reliability, and excellent communication skills.
  • A nautical background is not a prerequisite, but would be an advantage.
  • Professional experience in the Spanish shipyard or marine environment is not a prerequisite, but would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
