We are building a world-class Search Engine Marketing organization and are seeking a highly motivated and strategically-minded Senior SEM Specialist to join one of the most efficient SEM teams in Europe. Composed of SEM Account Managers, Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers, we are among the top Google and Microsoft Bing customers by spend in Europe.

This is a key strategic role within eDreams Odigeo that will help shape the future of the business. You will work alongside Country Managers, Product Managers, Pricing Analysts, Marketing Analysts, and many more, acting as a strategic PPC expert.

What you will do: 
The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks

As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Senior SEM Specialist, your role extends beyond execution to include strategic leadership, mentorship, and significant business impact:

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning: Build and drive long-term PPC strategies that contribute to sustained business growth, aligning PPC efforts with overarching business objectives and the broader marketing mix.
  • Performance Optimization & Risk Mitigation: Conduct complex data analysis to uncover strategic patterns, translate these findings into actionable strategies, and proactively identify potential risks within PPC initiatives, developing robust mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Cutting-Edge Execution & Standards: Plan, design, implement, and optimize highly effective SEM campaigns across all our brands & products, ensuring execution adheres to best-in-class industry standards and sets a high performance benchmark. Provide operational guidance and coordination within assigned scopes.
  • Business Acumen & Strategic Optimization: Steer spend and revenue of the SEM campaigns towards given targets by deciding on the right bid strategies, strategically optimizing PPC spend across diverse program scopes to maximize performance, volume, and ROI, considering company-wide KPIs.
  • Forecasting & Innovation: Contribute to forecasting and scenario planning, providing valuable insights to the leadership team. Champion a culture of experimentation and innovation, proactively exploring new platforms and methodologies to maintain our technical edge.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Serve as the primary contact for key high-level stakeholders. Influence strategic decisions by effectively presenting complex, data-driven insights in high-level executive summaries to peers, managers, and external partners (e.g., Google, Microsoft).
  • Team Guidance & Expert Mentorship: Act as a recognized subject matter expert who elevates the team's capabilities by providing in-depth technical guidance, disseminating best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Agile & Collaborative Work: Take full ownership of chosen quarterly strategic initiatives, coordinating the working team to achieve the objective, and closely collaborating with other departments to align actions towards common company targets.

What you need to succeed:

Bring your unique perspective, speak up, and offer disruptive solutions. You'll have the opportunity to learn and grow while making a real impact on our team. Here's what you need to succeed: 

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of demonstrable experience in SEM/PPC, ideally managing high 6-figure+ monthly budgets.
  • Strategic & Technical Expertise: Excellent, in-depth knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Bing, including advanced bid strategy design and implementation. G Ads certification is a plus.
  • Mandatory Quantitative Background: A degree in a highly quantitative field is required (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or similar quantitative Business fields).
  • Exceptional Data-Driven Leadership: Superior skill level in data analysis, interpretation, and complex data storytelling. You must be able to analyze big datasets, find non-obvious patterns, discover deep strategic insights, and articulate these findings clearly for executive decision-making.
  • Technical Data Proficiency: Advanced level in MS Excel is mandatory. Strong practical knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and experience working with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) or advanced statistical software is highly beneficial.
  • Influence & Mentorship: Proven ability to constructively challenge the status quo, influence strategic decisions, and provide effective mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Ownership & Acumen: Strong Sense of Ownership, taking the lead on end-to-end strategic initiatives with a can-do attitude. Demonstrable business acumen beyond core PPC metrics.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English is mandatory; additional European-based language is a plus.
  • Mindset: Experience working in an agile environment and/or in the travel sector is a plus. Always striving to grow & learn, embracing a 100° feedback culture.
  • AI & Automation Mindset: Experience in leveraging AI for strategic PPC campaign optimization, automation, and reporting is a strong plus.
