Head of Conference & Events*
at Grand Hyatt Barcelona, you will oversee the complete planning and execution of all conferences, meetings, weddings, and social events, ensuring every detail reflects our brand promise of personalized luxury hospitality. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence and commercial focus. You will lead and inspire the Events team, collaborate closely with Sales to drive revenue growth, and maintain strong client relationships to position Grand Hyatt Barcelona as the premier destination for luxury events.

*Key Responsibilities*

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Conference & Events team, setting clear goals and providing regular feedback to ensure high performance.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of events, from initial inquiry and planning to execution and post-event evaluation, ensuring flawless delivery and client satisfaction.
• Work closely with the Sales team to create integrated strategies that maximize revenue opportunities and deliver customized event solutions.
• Manage all event logistics, including room setups, catering, audiovisual, décor, and guest experience details.
• Implement training programs and best practices to enhance team skills and operational efficiency.
• Develop creative upselling strategies and tailor-made packages to increase profitability.
• Monitor event budgets, profitability, and ensure accurate billing and timely payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners, acting as the primary liaison for high-profile events.
• Represent Grand Hyatt Barcelona at industry events, networking forums, and client presentations to strengthen market positioning.
• Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards and operational procedures.

Qualifications
*Qualifications & Skills*

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in event management or conference planning within luxury hospitality, with experience in team coordination or leadership.
• Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

• Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of event planning processes, logistics, and client relationship management.

• Understanding of sales collaboration and ability to create customized event solutions.

• Leadership: Ability to guide and motivate a team, fostering collaboration and accountability.

• Skills:

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.

• Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills with a client-centric approach.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Opera PMS and event management software preferred.

• Education: Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or related field.
