About The Role
The Development Support Manager BESS plays both a strategic and operational role in the development and structuring of new battery energy storage projects at Amarenco. This role is carried out in close collaboration with the development teams in Iberia, the BESS Market Strategy Manager, and various support functions of the Company (Investment Management, Engineering, Legal, etc.)

The position is based in Madrid (Spain) or Coimbra (Portugal).

Key Responsibilities And Main Tasks

  • Support to Local Teams: Assist local project managers in structuring their development activities (site identification, planning, budgeting, risk management, reporting).
  • Standardisation of Practices: Develop and disseminate tools, methodologies, and best practices for battery project development, based on feedback from activities in France.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Ensure project consistency across different country entities and central functions (technical, legal, financial). Ensure the implementation and compliance with in-house project governance procedures and tools.
  • Technological and Regulatory Watch: Monitor developments in the battery storage market in Europe and anticipate impacts on projects, particularly regarding grid connection, tenders, safety, energy/container design, etc.
  • Training and Skills Development: Train local teams on technical and operational aspects of battery storage.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement project performance indicators and provide regular reporting to management.

Profil
You have more than five years of proven experience in developing battery storage energy projects, and a solid understanding of the Iberian market. With a strong technical background, you are familiar with battery technologies, system design, grid connection, and local permitting processes. You excel in planning, budgeting, risk management, reporting, and you are confident using project management tools and methodologies.

You are skilled at coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder projects and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including project development, technical, legal, and financial experts. You have a natural ability to transfer knowledge and to lead clear and engaging training sessions on technical and regulatory matters.

Fluent in English, you demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and can produce concise and insightful reports for senior management. Your experience in international and multicultural environments, especially in Iberia, is complemented by a strong understanding of European energy markets and tenders. Organised, proactive, and solution-oriented, you combine a strategic mindset with strong interpersonal and governance skills to drive successful project outcomes.
