The Events team informs customers, businesses, and partners about cloud infrastructure, compute, storage, and cybersecurity services. This position belongs to Akamai's dedicated marketing team, working closely with sales and marketing colleagues. Responsibilities include designing and implementing in-person event programs to enhance awareness and encourage adoption of company solutions.

Partner with the best

As an Events Specialist, you will work with the Global Events Manager and cross-functional marketing team to design and deliver events across key programs including 3rd party events, Akamai led events and sponsorships. You will support both developer and commercial focused events in collaboration with our Sales team. Managing complex assignments and enabling marketing activities pre and post is required to deliver on program goals.

As a Senior Event Specialist, you will be responsible for:

Supporting execution and strategy for third-party events, including booths, sponsorships, presentations, and operational logistics.Collaborating with marketing, sales, and brand teams to meet goals and shape audience experiencesEnsuring brand consistency across formats, regions, and event typesMaintaining event toolkits, templates, folders, calendars, blogs, and internal content librariesTracking, processing, and reconcile event budgets with timeliness and attention to detailStaying informed on product updates, event trends, and industry developments

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

Possess event marketing or management experience, especially within the B2B technology sector.Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail while managing multiple priorities effectively.Manage multiple projects across various stages with a proactive and collaborative approach.Utilize Cvent, Jifflenow, Salesforce, Airtable, or comparable platforms effectively for operational tasks.Adapt to unexpected changes while remaining calm and maintaining professionalism.Be willing to travel up to 20%, as required.
