Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing queries and dashboards in Athena, BigQuery and Tableau Server to understand current data structures and reporting logic.
- Rewrite and optimize SQL queries and ETL processes to transition from Athena and BigQuery to Snowflake.
- Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure new Snowflake-based data sources and dashboard metrics match existing Athena and Big Query data sources and dashboards.
- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports connected to Snowflake, ensuring data accuracy and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver data solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Create comprehensive documentation for data sources, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
Must-have Skills
- 6+ years of proven expertise as a Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer with previous experience with data migration projects, particularly transitioning from Athena and BigQuery to Snowflake.
- Advanced skills in Tableau for dashboard development and report creation.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools and methodologies.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization in both Snowflake and Tableau environments.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
- AI Tooling Proficiency
: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows. - Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Certifications in Snowflake and/or Tableau.
