The Role
Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead day-to-day IT operations and supervise the IT team to ensure service continuity.
  • Manage servers and infrastructure: Virtual machines upgrades and migrations, data backup, server monitoring and cybersecurity management.
  • Maintain and secure core websites and systems; conduct security assessments and implement safeguards.
  • Ensure security and compliance to the University policies such as Information Security and Data Management (ISDM) policy, Personal Data Protection and vulnerability assessments.
  • Oversee AV facilities; ensure reliability, create user guides, and provide demonstrations.
  • Prepare the IT sub-budget, manage procurement, and deliver technical support for seminars, workshops and events.

Qualifications And Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years' solid work experience in system administration and web applications development.
  • Deep technical knowledge across server and infrastructure management, virtualization, operating systems, web technologies, and system administration.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix), security hardening, and resilience against cyber threats.
  • Familiarity with Moodle and online registration systems, and confidence in supporting large scale events.
  • Strong reliability and ability to meet deadlines under demanding circumstances.
  • Excellent communication skills, professional attitude, collaborative spirit, and effective working relationships.
  • Initiative, independence, and professionalism to take on responsibilities and handle complex tasks competently.

What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
