Role Description

Are you passionate about working with data? Could your analytical skills contribute to our team's insights about the world economy and help business and government leaders make vital day-to-day decisions?

We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst (JDA) to support our growing Production Team. You'll play a vital role in the publication of our flagship economic intelligence reports by helping to automatize parts of our production process, in turn preventing costly human errors and boosting efficiency in Production. The JDA will also ensure that the daily department tasks are executed in a timely manner and that data quality is always a focal point.

Moreover, the JDA will assist with data solutions in collaboration with the Head of the Department and support other departments such as Research, Production Data and Client Solutions.

Responsibilities

Economic data handling

  • Participate in the data collection process, which includes forecasts from various banks, consultancies, and international organizations 
  • Ensure consistent and timely updating of data, implementing robust quality control measures.
  • Perform periodic checks of our database to ensure new data meets our quality standards.
  • Develop new measures to increase the speed and accuracy of updates.
  • Train new employees on data-related topics.
Support Production Processes
  • Apply changes to visual report elements, including complex modifications to tables and charts.
  • Maintain historical data up-to-date, including sovereign credit ratings.
  • Fix technical issues, following standardization practices.

Steering post-production and the distribution of content
  • Create reports, client excels and special data client content to be delivered to clients. 
  • Ensure timely distribution of all content. Resolve technical issues to manage tight deadlines.
  • Perform rigorous quality checks to ensure products meet our high standards.
  • Understand all steps of the post-production processes and how data is used.
Support other departments
  • Provide support to Development Team through data solutions like series mapping.
  • Create customized data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to Partnerships Management and Client Solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics or related field.
  • Experience managing large databases, ideally of macroeconomic indicators.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience of relational databases (SQL and/or MySQL).
  • Basic VBA knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Interest in Economics.
  • Strong level of English.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational capacity.
  • Solid communication skills and team player.
