Accounting and HR Operations Specialist

We are seeking a diligent finance professional to join our Barcelona-based team, offering a hybrid work arrangement. This role is ideal for an individual who excels in a fast-paced scale-up environment, has an autonomous working style, and is adept at balancing meticulous financial detail with the broader vision of the company's financial health.

Core Responsibilities:

• Financial Stewardship: You will support / oversee the precise execution of financial transactions and maintain the integrity of our financial records.
• Financial Closure: Your responsibilities include facilitating the smooth and accurate closure of our books at month-end and year-end.
• Financial Admin: You will be responsible for the preparatory accounting incl. billing, invoicing/invoice posting, and bank transfers.
• HR & Payroll Admin: Contribute to our growth initiative by providing essential HR admin support, including payroll, creating detailed HR documents (contracts, certificates) and managing HR systems (Personio), while maintaining strict confidentiality and data privacy.
• Financial Closure & Tax Compliance: Your responsibilities include facilitating the smooth and accurate closure of our books at month-end and year-end as well as adherence to tax regulations.

Your Profile:  

• Educational Foundation: An Apprenticeship / Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or holding a Chartered Accountant Certification signifies your formal expertise.
• Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in financial roles (1-2 years), especially within dynamic business settings. Your practical knowledge in accounting and financial reporting is expected.
• Technical Expertise: Proficient use of accounting software such as DATEV (Unternehmen Online) and SAP is essential, as are advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
• Operational Skills: You are seasoned in handling Accounts Payable, Receivable, as well as tax regulations. You are familiar with payroll processes, and competent in managing the general ledger through monthly and yearly closings in collaboration with a dedicated tax, legal, and accounting partner.
• Analytical Acumen: Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for managing complex financial data and scenarios. Exceptional accuracy in financial data management is a must, ensuring integrity in every aspect of our financial operations.
• Organizational Prowess: You possess excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Spanish is necessary, enabling effective navigation of local financial regulations and communications.
