Manage and prioritize warehouse resources to ensure service, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are met.
Lead and coach supervisors and warehouse personnel to achieve operational and performance targets.
Ensure inventory accuracy through effective stock management, cycle counts, reconciliation activities, and proper stock rotation practices.
Monitor inbound and outbound logistics flows to support customer and business requirements.
Ensure full compliance with safety, security, environmental, and operational standards.
Analyze warehouse performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address operational gaps.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
Resolve escalated operational issues impacting inventory, service levels, transportation, or customer satisfaction.
Support workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and performance management activities.
Collaborate with transportation, procurement, manufacturing, planning, customer service, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution across the value chain.
Contribute to supply chain risk mitigation and business continuity planning activities.
Leadership ScopeDirectly manages warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and/or operational personnel depending on organizational structure.
Responsible for allocating resources, setting operational priorities, and monitoring team performance.
Conducts performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning for direct reports.
Makes independent day-to-day operational decisions within established policies and procedures.
Leads implementation of operational improvements and change management initiatives.
Escalates strategic or significant operational risks when appropriate.
QualificationsWarehouse & Logistics ManagementSupply Chain Operations & Risk ManagementCustomer & Stakeholder OrientationContinuous Improvement & Change ManagementHealth, Safety & SustainabilityLeadership & Team DevelopmentProblem Solving & Decision MakingTypical Experience ProfileExperience in warehouse operations, logistics, distribution, or supply chain management roles.
Prior experience managing teams, supervisors, or operational leaders within a warehouse environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehousing processes, and logistics operations.
Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and operational KPI management.
Demonstrated capability in process improvement, productivity enhancement, and operational problem solving.
Good understanding of health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements in warehouse operations.
Positioning in the OrganizationThis role is typically an entry-level management position responsible for leading warehouse operations through direct supervision of personnel and/or frontline leaders. It has broader accountability than a Warehouse Operations Supervisor, including performance management, resource planning, continuous improvement leadership, and operational decision-making. The role focuses primarily on tactical and operational execution while supporting the achievement of departmental objectives.
