THE POSITION
The Clerical Assistant 3 position with the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs is a great opportunity to support important licensure work that helps professionals across the state. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports licensure processing by reviewing applications, verifying information, and assisting applicants throughout the process. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Review: Examine licensure applications to assess eligibility and accuracy
- Data Verification: Check documents and records to confirm completeness and required information
- Phone Support: Respond to calls and provide information to applicants and the public
- Inspection Coordination: Determine inspection needs and request reports through the computer system
- Record Preparation: Compile licensure histories, certificates, and letters of good standing
- Issue Processing: Prepare discrepancy notices and handle exceptional applications for further review

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 50% after 6 month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
