Thunes is headquartered in Singapore with regional offices in London, Paris, Barcelona, Shanghai, New York, Dubai, and Nairobi. **Context of the role** The Manager - People Operations is an exciting hands-on role building a People Operations function with a small team. The organisation with >300 employees (across a wide range of countries globally) today is scaling fast and requires an increased focus on building structure, processes, and automation. This is a people management and coaching role, supporting the Chief People Officer in the day-to-day management of the team. **Key Responsibilities** - Subject matter expert for all people operations in Thunes including payroll, administration, onboarding and off boarding, international mobility, HR policies & compliance, people team KPI/SLAs etc - Providing first line People services to employees and managers driven through specialist knowledge of policies, procedures, and information relevant to the group of employees in Thunes - Responsible for maintaining an accurate People administration covering general employee and employment information, payroll (through external providers), benefits administration, and other administrative requirements which may vary between different regions - Driving process improvements, automation, and self-service (for both employees and managers), constantly reducing the admin workload, and improving efficiencies and services provided to employees. - Strong focus on providing employee service - work towards defining and achieving SLAs and objectives that support best-in-class people management - Manage small team, own full people management responsibility for the team, with support from Chief People Officer. Drive scalable model, focused on the upskilling team and enabling them to handle the majority of day-to-day queries/issues, all whilst working in true partnership with other People colleagues - Responsible for providing first-line support on employee relations matters, including but not limited to pointing managers in the right direction for all processes or policies related to performance issues, grievances, disciplinary processes, dismissals, or redundancies. - Responsible to refer employees/managers to PBPs for any interpretation of policies and/or individual employee issues or where decision-making is required. - Balances local HR best practices with Thunes global standards when advising on employee relations issues. Drive a culture of flexibility, diversity, and equality even where these are not strong drivers in the local culture - Drive consistency, efficiencies, and self-service capabilities through all people ops touchpoints, by automating & streamlining systems and driving initiatives that provide consistent processes throughout the group **Professional Experience/Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree and/ or hold a relevant recognised professional/ chartered qualification such as CIPD, SHRM etc - Can demonstrate a progressive HR career with a focus on HR operations including a minimum of 3-5years+ in a leadership role - Previous experience gained within tech/ fintech/ pre-IPO companies would be highly beneficial - Able to multitask and be solution focused, with a track record of successfully developing and implementing people ops programs as well as solid experience in managing and supporting transactional activities - Expertise and experience in leading multi-country people ops team (must have had accountability for at least 5 countries) - Hands-on experience with payroll processes and interactions with external payroll providers - Strong HRIS and analytics skills along with advanced proficiency in Excel are essential - Strategic thinker - aligns people processes and policies with the organisation's desired commercial outcomes - Proven strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and work on tight deadlines - Growing, solving, experimenting, iterating, and getting things done with persistence and passion - A passion for people management, prior experience is a plus but not required
