EIT Climate-KIC operates as a not-for-profit platform working through public-private partnership, wielding both public and private funding. We consist of 3 Legal entities: a Dutch BV Holding company (for profit) with 14 branches in European jurisdictions, providing grant management, innovation orchestration services, and impact investment advisory owned by a Dutch-based foundation with charity status - Climate-KIC International Foundation. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

EIT Climate-KIC is co-leading with the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) a national multi-stakeholder platform in Spain to implement the European Mission for Climate Neutral and Smart Cities (citiES 2030).

The objective of this platform is to provide services to Spanish cities to facilitate and accelerate their systemic transformation towards climate neutrality by 2030. The platform is currently supporting 17 cities to become climate neutral by using the mission approach and offering three levels of services: networking, training, and implementation.

EIT Climate-KIC is looking for a facilitator / orchestrator to join the team that is supporting the Spanish cities that are part of the platform citiES 2030.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Facilitating spaces for interaction and participation of the different actors involved in the platform, with special attention to stakeholders working on the decarbonization of the built environment.
- Carrying out the technical secretariat of the working groups.
- Taking care of the ecosystem and contributing to the promote a membership / engagement strategy.
- Developing new narratives and strategic content to spread out to all stakeholders.
- Designing and offering training activities to build capacities in cities and other stakeholders.
- Taking care of the communication tools dedicated to the platform members.

**Key Working Relationships**
- European level: follow the work of NetZeroCities programme and connect all learnings and services with the Spanish national platform. Facilitate collaboration with other European platforms (Viable Cities in Sweden and eventual new national platforms).
- Spanish level: teamwork to offer Spanish Mission and Non-Mission Cities services offered in the platform: networking, training, and implementation. Ensure multi-actor collaboration in all activities. Local level: support cities to implement their Climate City Contracts. Support the development of local platforms. Ensure knowledge transfer from national/European scale to local scale and sensemaking of different local actors. Specific support will be offered to reduce emissions from the building sector and to promote use of non-embedded carbon materials.

Additionally, the facilitator / orchestrator will work internally with other teams in EIT Climate-KIC to foster the research of synergies that can contribute to the objectives and results of the platform.

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in this role you will need to be a team player, resilient to uncertainty and adaptive to a changing role to better support cities. You will also need to lead meetings and have strong oral and written communication skills. It will also be useful to know the ecosystem of actors in Spain and their incentives, as well as the context of the EU Missions.

Additionally, you should have technical skills related to the transformation of cities towards climate neutrality. Furthermore, it is strongly recommended to know the Spanish context in terms of regulation and governance.

**Education/Qualifications**
- Holding a Master’s degree. Complementary education related to climate topics will be highly appreciated.
