**Innovate and push the boundaries of science in Oncology R&D**

Join a dedicated Oncology team that’s growing fast and building a strong track record of success. Our pioneering approach is identifying and treating patients earlier, focusing on early stage cancer trials and listening and evolving based on their needs. **About the role**:
Your day to day work will include:

- Developing statistical and machine learning models to accelerate decision making, both internally and externally.
- Consultancy to drive best practise in the statistical analysis of bioinformatic data across the early drug portfolio.
- Working with a range of stakeholders across the oncology drug pipeline to ensure that models are fit for purpose, and that the insights derived from the models are clearly communicated.

Developing best practice for predictive modelling, and working to educate stakeholders in both the benefits and the limitations of this approach.

**Essential for the role**
- Relevant PhD (or equivalent graduate plus applied experience) demonstrating technical expertise in applied mathematics or applied biostatistics, or similar.
- Experience in Bayesian or other advanced statistical learning techniques, and the drive to continue to learn and develop these skills.
- R / Python programming expertise in Unix high performance computing environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with business customers to help formulate business problems as rigorous quantitative questions, and translating analysis results to business recommendations.

**Desirable**
- Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- In-depth experience of working in a global organization with complex/geographical context
