**BUSINESS AREA**

The Oncology Data Science - Data, Analytics, and AI Platforms (ODSP) team comprises multiple groups across the Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, Barcelona ES, and Munich DE sites. ODSP develops technology, software, and data infrastructure to advance our Oncology data science. Our vision is to evolve data science into a driver of innovation within Oncology. We do this by creating a strategic culture that values our data as **a valid business asset,** organizing our data so that it’s **accessible and easy to find, integrated, and re-usable **for Humans & AI, and building the best data computational tools to** support scientific decision making.**

**What you’ll do**

Primarily responsible for the software stack across the omics domain (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, single-cell, etc.), working with users, software providers, and internal software engineering and operations teams to ensure an innovative, scalable, and integrated portfolio of omics software products for our internal AZ users.

The Oncology Data Science Platform group comprises multiple teams across the Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, Barcelona ES, and Munich DE sites. The accountabilities of the group span pre-clinical and early clinical data strategy and multi-omics-based production informatics for Oncology Discovery, Translational Medicine, and Early Clinical portfolio.

**Responsibilities**:

- Owns a software stack for omics sequence processing, analysis, pipeline automation, data storage & management, and visualization
- Collects and prioritizes requirements from internal users and works with internal or external teams on feature realization
- Defines statements of work and release timelines and organizes software deployment with internal software operations teams
- Works with product owners of internal software on build-or-buy decisions, and integration plans spanning the entire software stack
- Works with the data operations team to fit data flow and data provisioning schemes into the software stack
- Organizes and conducts software training and support
- Communicates software stack and change (upgrades, replacements, phase-outs) to the user base

**Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience**

**Essential for the role**:

- Master’s degree in natural or engineering sciences
- Direct bioinformatics background with knowledge of significant sequencing types (Proteomics, RNAseq, DNAseq, Whole exome, etc.)
- 5+ years of expertise in the usage and/or the management of software for genomics data analysis and/or management, e.g.
- genomics laboratory information systems & data management (e.g. ClarityLIMS, SolveBio)
- sequence analysis (e.g. bcBio, GATK, FastQC)
- analysis visualization (e.g. cBioPortal, IGV)
- Good understanding of technology infrastructure for large-scale genomics computing
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work in a global, highly matrixed environment
- Stakeholder communication and management
- Experience in agile methodology, especially scrum

**Desirable for the role**:

- Knowledge in (immune) oncology
- Knowledge of drug development (processes)
- Product development experience
- Knowledge of business analytics
