**Description**:
Basic Function
Responsible for the Field Service Center Public Facility shop and yard operations in support of METRO’s Transit Centers, Park & Ride, Rail Stations, Signage and related equipment. Supervises staff, coordination and scheduling of maintenance work orders and assignments, tracking progress and follow-through to completion. Manages inventory and purchasing of materials, physical assets and equipment. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties

Provides primary managerial direction and performs personnel administrative functions of direct report staff (e.g., training, supervising, work assignments, timesheets, performance evaluations, etc.) for maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff and ensuring necessary department outcomes are achieved.

Supervises staff in all phases of maintenance, repairs, cleaning, inventory and other job-related work.
- Responsible for maintenance personnel performance through inspections and evaluations, including first line labor relations.
- Adheres to Union contract agreement work rules, employee discipline, evaluations, training, and safety.
- Investigates complaints and documents and works with management on corrective action.

Oversees sign shop operations to ensure signs are produced in accordance with schedule and maintain compliance with TxDOT

Oversees and responsible for obtaining and tracking all tools, equipment, materials, and supplies to complete job assignments from purchasing to work order completion.
- Oversees tool assignments, maintains tools inventory and tool repairs or replacements.
- Conducts METRO tool audits with employees to review assigned tool inventory.
- Performs company vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are being maintained in clean conditions.
- Maintains the shop, storage yard area, and equipment in a clean, operational, and up-to-date state.

Ensures that all Preventive Maintenance (PM) work assignments are closed accurately and in timely manner.

Works with management to develop contracts required to procure all materials for public facilities including but not limited to; canopies, sheet metal, wood, panels, trash cans, benches, poles, chain, supplies, etc.

Oversee the planning and coordination of inventory and purchasing. Meets with management regularly to understand business needs and plan delivery of inventory accordingly.

Responsible for supervising Purchase Card procurements and complying with purchase card guidelines.

Maintains careful evaluation of materials usage trends and audits the inventory to ensure stocking availability, increase/decrease usage for control and accuracy for use in scheduling, planning and other functional activities

Prepares and submits daily and monthly operation statistics and inventory reports.

Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.

Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education Requirement
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in Business, Trade or Technical area preferred.
Years & Experience Required
Minimum four (4) years business operations experience to include functional experience with general maintenance, construction, materials/inventory and procurement to include lead/supervisory experience. Additional experience with inventory computer systems preferred.
Knowledge & Skills Required

Valid Texas State Driver’s License. Good human relations and strong communications (written/verbal) skills. Knowledge of labor agreements and related procedures. General knowledge of materials and inventory. Proficiency in PC skills in Microsoft office suite: Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. Basic Skill testing will be required. Familiarity with SAP or maintenance inventory systems. Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and software
