**Role**: R&D- Biotechnology Lab Technician
**Location**: Spain - Barcelona (Lipotec at Gava)
**Reporting to**: R&D - Lipotec Actives Department
**Purpose**:
To give experimental support to the Active Ingredients laboratories comprised in R&D area, executing the procedures according to the current laboratory protocols and established planning. The position will have a strong dedication to fermentation activities (such a fermentation-derived rheology modifier), but we’d expect a generalist lab technician knowledge to enable flexibility to support both the synthesis and analysis laboratories depending on the workloads.
**RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- General laboratory procedures.
- Culture medium (solid and liquid) preparation.
- Microorganism culture at Erlenmeyer scale.
- Synthesis of peptide actives (solid phase/resin cleavage/ion exchange)
- Vegetable protein hydrolysates
- Lyophilization of active aqueous solutions
- Purification techniques (centrifugation/filtration/extraction/dialysis/hidrolysis).
- Active analysis (colorimetric methods, HPLC knowledge).
- Perform the experimental work according to the guidelines of the company Health and Safety and ISO policies.
**REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS**
Successful applicant will have:
- FPII/CFGS in chemistry and specific modules in microbiology/biology/biotechnology/analytical chemistry
- Multidisciplinary team work
- All-in attitude
- Precise in the execution
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel ).
- English fluency is a plus.
