Our client is an important multinational pharmaceutical organization (company) which develops and manufactures API’s ingredients and finished dosage forms. This company have two manufacturing plants in Spain and another one in Malta which is expanding.

They are looking for a R&D Lab Manager
The Research and Development Lab Manager (Malta) will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Research and Development Laboratory, including the High Potency API (HPAPI) Laboratory. The lab team is an integral part of the R&D Department, responsible for the development, scale-up and Validation of manufacturing processes for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
Main Functions:
- Overall management of the R&D Laboratory, including personnel management, administrative and systems management, including both the conventional lab (which includes wet chemistry and analytical chemistry areas) and the HPAPI laboratory.
- Participate in and lead the design and development of industry-viable, chemical processes for the synthesis of APIs.
- Chromatographic testing required for the development and Process Validation of API processes.
- Technical evaluation of second sources of raw materials.
- Participate in and lead technical investigations and process optimisations for lifecycle products.
- Maintaining a GLP system in the laboratory.
- Providing technical and analytical support to the plant
