Shell Canada is looking to hire an** Electrician Craftsperson** for our Sarnia Manufacturing Centre, with the primary focus on complex analyzers.

The Sarnia Manufacturing Centre, Corunna Refinery is located on the St. Clair Parkway, about 10 kilometers south of Sarnia between the communities of Froomfield and Corunna. The refinery processes approx. 75,000 bbl of raw crude into a range of petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel and various petrochemicals. Shell, Sarnia Refinery has approximately 350 employees. Unionized environment.

**What does this position do?**

This position reports to the Maintenance Team Leader in the Maintenance Department who is accountable to provide Electrical, Instrumentation and Analyzer maintenance at our Sarnia facility. This position will work a weekday work schedule with selected overtime.

The Electrician Craftsperson will be required to safely troubleshoot and repair a range of Electrical systems and components while conducting Preventative/Reactive Maintenance on electrical systems at our facility.

**What knowledge, skills and abilities are needed?**
- Preference will be given to applicants who have at least 5-10yrs maintenance experience in the chemical industry. Specifically, with physical property electrical systems and components.
- Applicant must be a qualified Electrician journeyperson (309a or 442).
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and components including but not limited to: Electrical heat tracing, installation, splicing, EHT controllers; Variable Frequency Drive (VFDs); 600V, 5KV, 25KV & 35KV switch gear; Motor Operated Valves (MOVs); Uninterruptible Power Supply systems (UPS).
- Skill with Electrical drawings, P&ID’s & isometric
- Electrical systems commissioning and check out for projects.
- Dual ticket with instrumentation license would be an asset.
- Willingness for trade flexibility / cross crafting is an expectation
- Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Interfaces with vendors, when required
- Maintains a high standard of workmanship, safety awareness and housekeeping.
- Maintains records and drawings
- Provides history for equipment repair and feedback to plans
- Work with computer base maintenance systems like GSAP.
- Helps solve problems through troubleshooting and comprehension of process systems
- Some overtime and after-hours coverage required.
- Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and be on-call to respond to emergencies.
- Willing to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate.
- Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level.
- Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
