Millwright - Smc Maintenance Team

**The Role**:
Shell Canada is looking to hire an **Millwright Craftsperson** for our Sarnia Manufacturing Centre, with the primary focus on complex analyzers. The Sarnia Manufacturing Centre, Corunna Refinery is located on the St. Clair Parkway, about 10 kilometers south of Sarnia between the communities of Froomfield and Corunna. The refinery processes approx. 75,000 bbl of raw crude into a range of petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel and various petrochemicals. Shell, Sarnia Refinery has approximately 350 employees. Unionized environment.

**What is the purpose of this role?**
As a member of the Maintenance Team, you will report to the Maintenance Team Lead. Maintenance team members maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment as part of an integrated site team in an effort to keep the plant running safe and reliably. You will have a strong foundation in preventative and predictive maintenance as well as having superior skills within your area of expertise

**What types of activities and responsibilities are included in this role?**
- Troubleshooting, Maintenance and overhauls on various types of single & multi-stage pumps, steam and power turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, oil mist systems, etc.
- Equipment installation, foundation prep, leveling, grouting, and final installation of pumps and compressors
- Laser alignment
- Work with all styles of mechanical seals and the ability to troubleshoot the various seals
- Strong leadership skills able to self-direct as required by site priorities
- Actively engage in ensuring the safety of self and co-workers, providing and accepting interventions to achieve Goal Zero, and adheres to Shell policies and Life-Saving rules
- Verifies and performs work as requested on approved work orders, follow up and sign off
- Provides feedback to planners and schedulers to help improve plan and schedule quality
- Works with Maintenance Technical Support Team, Operations and Engineering Services on identified repeat failures, Root Cause Analysis and Reliability issues
- Makes sound decisions based upon maintenance guidelines and principles and works well with others in any situation
- Executes preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Assists in the development of preventive maintenance systems, spare parts program, maintenance practices and procedures, infrastructure (tools and equipment)
- Interfaces with Operations, other Craft Team Member Groups, and contractors
- Skilled in the use of power and hand tools
- Provides input into production unit shutdown work scope and overhaul issues
- Understands and follows Maintenance Execution Work Process practices
- Interfaces with vendors, when required
- Maintains a high standard of workmanship, safety awareness, and housekeeping.
- Maintains records and drawings
- Provides and enters history for equipment repair and feedback to plans
- Work with computer-based maintenance systems like GSAP
- Will be required to participate in the maintenance call-out process, off-shift coverage (nights & weekends), cold weather coverage & Turnaround support

- Must have a valid Ontario Journeyman Millwright ticket or interprovincial red seal Millwright or indentured as a registered Ontario apprentice.
