Senior Hw Product Engineer

MISSION
Carry out the HW product design to ensure the technical and functional feasibility of the products giving support to the project teams, with the objective of reaching cost, quality and timing goals established by the direction.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Ensure, together with the Master in Design, the technical feasibility of the product during the offer and development stages in accordance with Ficosa Development System/Idneo Development System (FDS/IDS) methodology.

Ensure the technical feasibility solutions established taking into account the technical level of the business unit when starting the mass production series.

Cooperate with manufacturing teams in the products industrialization.

Ensure the development and prototypes delivery regarding the defined plans with the client.

Take part in the product and process FMEA’s.

Carry out the design revision under the supervision of the Master in Design.

Manage effectively the product modifications during the development.

Together with the Quality Engineer, analyze the results of the product technical test reports and find the necessary technical countermeasures solutions.

Ensure the optimum use of the standardized solutions in all the development processes of the product for all the business unit clients.

Support the competitiveness of the business unit improving costs, quality and product functional character matters, adopting technical progress solutions coming from competitors’ analysis and benchmark.

Cooperate with Purchasing dept. and suppliers to ensure the optimization of the components in terms of cost, quality and manufacturability.

Support the generation of all the Electronic Design delivery documents:
Electrical BOM part list (maximizing the Standard Part list selection), Schematics, and PCB (Printed Circuit board) Layout CAD Design, (with the help of the ECAD technician), the related Manufacturing Standard Doc’s (for Adjustment, Testing, Quality Inspection).

Satisfy all the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and Safety Homologations criteria, based on the pre-agreed customer standard.

Satisfy all the Electronic Reliability (Temperature, Electricity Static Discharge - ESD, Derating) criteria’s, based on the pre-agreed customer quality standard.

Observe Ficosa’s Code of Ethics to avoid fraudulent practices. Comply with Information Security Management System (ISMS) applicable to the job, along with the training related thereto.

Actively cooperate in maintaining, promoting and improving the OSHE and Quality department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

**Academic background**:
University Engineering Degree (mainly in Electronics or Telecommunications)

**Languages**:
Fluent in local language & Fluent in English (written & spoken)

**Experience**:
Minimum 5 year in a similar positions

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

**Additional training**:
R&D Tools (FDS/IDS, Problem Solving, FMEA...), HW Tools

Knowledge of HW architecture and embedded systems (SPI, I2C, etc)

Schematic design with Altium

Low power DC/DC converters design

Digital Image Sensor Experience

Knowledge of Video Displays and/or any video standard knowledge (MIPI, Broadreach, FPDLINk, HDMI, DVI, CVBS)

Programming in C, C++, Linux, LabView and/or low level language is a plus

FPGA with VHDL programming is a strong plus

Mechanical system design or Optics Design knowledge/Interest is a plus
