Senior Business Analyst

Currently, we are looking for a skilled Data Analyst, with experience in systems/projects from the Financial Market domain, to join the Data Team of our client.

We always hire for a career in EPAM, but the initial client for this hire is a leading UK based Hedge Fund with a New York presence with aggressive growth aspirations and a challenging delivery agenda.

**Responsibilities**:

- On Project-time:

- Use data skills in small projects to attend to bigger business needs
- Work in stories that aims to improve team’s efficiency: manual processes automation; data quality/sanitizing checks; triggering alerts/reports; monitor dashboards; tooling creation
- Specification of new functionality as required by projects across the front, middle and back-office
- Ongoing improvement of knowledge through better documentation and knowledge management infrastructure
- Document processes and procedures
- On Support/BAU-time:

- Be the Market Data 1st or 2nd that will provide close support to Desk and Quant staff
- Identify and manage risks and flag major issues early
- Help investigate complex functional software issues, assist in root cause analysis and establish a solution
- Able to do recommendations and make own judgments on any situation
- Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences
- Play a proactive role in spot improvement opportunities, propose them (automation, new processes, tools & approaches) to relevant teams, and document it accordingly to be prioritized and implemented
- Engage with external and internal data providers
- Configure internal/third-party systems
- Assure to execute agenda of BAU activities
- On-call, participate in support on-call rotations one week a month (Mon-Fri):

- On call start time: Flexible, the team will organize shifts to accommodate
- On call end time: 11pm CET
- Compensation: On call: 35% of hour rate. Overtime compensation: x1.75 for any hours worked during on-call period
- Flexibility to swift shifts between the team members

**Requirements**:

- Technical aspect:

- SQL and solid data interrogation skills
- Python (advanced/expert skills)
- Experience working with high volume datasets
- Experience automating processes using workflow/tasks orchestrator software
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Code management tools
- Business/Analysis aspect:

- Experience on Financial Market domain companies (funds, investment banks, brokers, market infrastructure, data/platform vendors, etc.)
- Have clear understanding of features of main asset classes: Equities, Bonds, Derivatives
- Experience gathering requirements and preparing specification
- Documenting processes and procedures
- Experience in Agile projects
- You keep a positive attitude even in face of uncertainty and complexity
- You communicate clearly and precisely, leading others and transferring knowledge efficiently
- You have good attention to details and strive for learning
- You form strong, honest and mutually respectful relationships with the key client, visiting their London office as required

- Experience on Buy Side
- Familiar with Market Data concept
- Experience on Market Data systems working with financial data providers like Bloomberg, Reuters, Markit, etc., would be beneficial
- Familiar with financial market concepts like Indexes, ETF, ADR, Corporate Actions, IPO
