Solar Engineer

Local Unit & Position Description:
**DNV** is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated **Engineer** to join our Solar Team in Barcelona and be part of an International Team of Solar Experts providing independent and owners engineering/ advisory services to our Customers.

The position is a full-time position reporting to the Solar Team Leader for Southern Europe, located in the Barcelona Office.

**Responsibilities**:

- **
Direct Project Work**. As part of the daily work, and after a proper training, it is expected that the Solar Engineer will be involved in technical advisory tasks related to independent and owners engineering services, focused on solar technology and design assessments as well as site inspections.
- **Research and Development**. Propose and be involved in internal R&D Projects related to the Solar Business.

Position Qualifications:
**To qualify, we need you to** **have**:

- At least a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;
- Excellent communications skills in English and Portuguese;
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite;
- Valid driving license.
- Experience in leading or supporting independent qualitative and quantitative analysis;
- Knowledge of programming languages as R, Python.
**Additional qualifications which will be considered a plus**:

- Some professional experience in the solar sector (preferable in consultancy or engineering companies);
- Experience within the following fields:

- System design, energy estimates, equipment selection, and performance monitoring;
- Construction Monitoring and/ or Supervision for Solar PV Plants; and
- Project Acceptance Tests and Commissioning Procedures.
- Other areas of experience could be:

- Familiarity with typical equipment for site inspections (drones, thermographic cameras, EL, I-V curve tracers);
- Familiarity with PVsyst as well as other energy simulation software;
- Knowledge of solar PV related regulations, codes and standards;
- IEC and other relevant certifications in the industry.
- Communication skills in Spanish language;
- Knowledge of Matlab and C++.
