Whats Up Living English, a company that specializes in teaching English as a second language and in the process of expansion, with centers In Barcelona, Madrid, Leganés, Valencia, Bilbao, Sevilla, Badalona, Hospitalet, Cornellá, Sabadell y Terrassa, is looking for Head of Studies in Girona

The Head of Studies manages the didactic team, plans class scheduling, and sets the tone for the highly social environment which characterises our centres.

**KEY RESPONSABILITIES**
- **Manage, train, support and supervise the didactic team**; to ensure the professional growth of teaching staff;
- **Select, hire and train new teachers and coaches** and coordinate this with the Director and Centre Manager;
- **Oversee activity in the Whats Up Social Club**, making sure it is a great place to learn English;
- **Schedule time-tables in response to the demand** for classes detected in your centre;
- **Teach classes**, depending on staff levels in your centre and **substitute/find a substitution to cover classes** when a teacher is ill/on sick leave;
- **Coordinate** teacher **holidays/Saturday rotas**/school bank holidays;
- **Quality control** through **ongoing training, weekly staff meetings **with the didactic team, **class observations** and **staff appraisals**;
- **Coordination** and **weekly meetings** with management on various aspects (Director/Didactic Service Manager/Centre Manager);
**Liason with consultants **and **create**
- **good rapport with the students**, to receive feedback about classes and teacher performance and solve any problems related to change of level/e-campus/class times/complaints;
- **Promote the Have Fun Open Activities** (events) that the school organises and ensure that the didactic staff is prepared for the events.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**ESENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**

Degree level or above

CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL / PGCE TEFL, or equivalent experience

Ability to mentor and guide newly qualified teachers

Good communication skills

Demonstrable leadership skills

Excellent organisational skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Comfortable working with IT

Residence in Spain with EU working papers.

adaptable, empathetic and organized

**RECOMMENDED**
- Previous management experience in an English language teaching organisation
